  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dino...

Thanks for the new pics Dino. I'm already thinking about how I'll configure the camera, but it seems like you can do anything with it!

It sure looks like a Bomb EVF is in my future though, unless I can figure out a simple but effective way to mount the LCD Pro 5.0 for handheld use.

Dino, thank you for all the Epic feedback, footage and pictures. Love those Spider Grips, really glad you posted those pics!

Cheers!

hh grips are from camtec.

They look just like Spider Grips...

Thank you for the correction Dino... The hh grips from camtec though share the same 15mm Studio/15mm LWS bridge support, dog bones, foam grips, rosettes and articulating "knuckles" as the Spider Grips from Camera Accessory Solutions... Surely they share the same lineage? Anyway, you've got me pretty excited to put these on my stage 2 Epic X, thanks for that...

Thank you again for those Epic pics and that badass 96FPS clip of the ice cube... :cheers2:

Dino has provided some great pics and clips to be sure, but that overcranked ice-breaking clip was from John Cordell in the "Another Epic-M in on the loose" thread.

I personally find it a great situation to be in where enough Epics are in the wild that we are starting to get confused as to where the footage is coming from! :smile5:

Thanks again for all the cool riug and BTS clips, Dino... keep them coming please!

with the help of esteemed 1st AC - Greg Benetiz

Hey,

Worked with Benetiz on a crazy car commercial up here in Portland. If you're ever hand carrying a Red across a cliff face with with a 30 foot waterfall below Benetiz is the type of guy you want as your 1st AC!

Anyways, thanks for the pics of this more mobile setup. Seems like ideally the monitor would be mountable down further on the operator side . . . any solutions for this?

Thanks again,

yes the monitor will come down on the day...i have a monitor mount that comes off the rods and ends up right where the DP likes it.

Spider grips are from Colin Colberg you can't buy them from Camtec only rental.

Where is Greg's Preston FIZ unit mounted?

He is going manual w ff4...

Hi Dino, I have a question that maby should have fitted the Scarlet better. Anyway, do you have any lens that can do autofocus? Would be interesting to hear if this feature actually is usable when doing crane work or sports for example. Most wanted feature for the Epic right;)

Autofocus will work when the Electronic Canon and Nikon mounts become available for the EPIC, and eventually the Scarlet. You will also be able to "touch to focus" on the 5" TouchScreen LCD. These mounts are still just a short time away from being made available...

Puppets love Dino's Epic. Thanks for bringing it to the shoot, Dino. Was a blast to use. I think I may be hooked.

certainly my pleasure to work with you and your crew. good fun. glad you liked it.

Just worked with Dino in SF Bay Area on a Grocery Outlet comml for Snow Films. Worked great with my QTAKE - auto record, TC was spot-on, got a 1080/23.98 feed.
Sweet, Dino!
