Elizabeth's Two Brain Solution (anyone remember that) looks a whole lot better. I was getting an a-cam, now i get lil scarlet and s35 for less.

Lenses will be lenses.

I was sooooo scared lil scarlet would go.

Bravo RED.

Yes Sir.

FF1080P is Full Frame 1080p at 1 - 30 fps variable frame rate.

So that includes native 23.98, 25.00, 29.97 fps image capture.

I asked this earlier but it got buried... is FF1080P REDCODE RAW or a new RGB codec?

Hopefully those glorious cameras will not actually be executed, right?

Ready to execute! :waaa:

Stuart answered that in the middle of this thread - it is REDCODE RGB compression rather than REDCODE RAW comression.

I have never heard of a company being so good to their customers. Im just wondering what the costs on the io, cf and battery module will be for the suckers that don't have a red one?

I'm eagerly anticipating news on the difference between mysterium-x and mysterium -x select.

I'm really hoping that the "complete kit" includes an LCD, control unit and some sort of battery system.

i assume... that the complete kit will include the necessary parts to be what the original 3k for $3k Scarlet was going to be. so... Body, fixed lens, lcd, CF card reader, i/o (maybe), power module and a redmote (or maybe a handle instead?).

But it'd be nice to know what RED is actually planning for it, I'm just making my best guess.

As per the specifications sheet ...
Hope this helps...

Thank you, I got lost in the brains section and missed those...

I really look forward to see Mr. Jannards dreams and visions come to life, I only hope that would happen in other businesses as well (*cough* Detroit *cough*).

Fantastic news guys! Really stoked about the Epic X and glad we just bought another camera so that we can do what we wanted. Just great! I truly love the way Jim and Red Team take care of their customers. Read an article earlier today where they were saying another camera company takes care of their customers. I'm sure they do, but Red re-invented customer service. Love it! Anyway, hopefully there will be some stuff to show off at NAB this coming year? Working prototypes, footage? It would be really sweet to not only see new footage but also footage done with your 3d rig (sorry, a little off topic).

Fly-by-wire => I connect the camera to a computer and can control the zoom and other features (mount [x,y,z axis?] controls as well), via the computer or another computer connected to the camera host via network?

I thought the "Fly-By-Wire" concept was a camera small enough to throw on a "wire" and "fly" it by for your shot...

"wired" to a computer to "fly" it makes sense too...

OK i give up with RED and their "announcements". These posts do nothing except frustrate us looking for a solution this side of whenever.

I give up and will stop bothering to wait and look toward to current crop of DSLRs which do actually deliver what they say on the tin. I begrudgingly have to start to agree that these announcements are just marketing for items that do not exists and "expect change" doesn't cut the mustard as to why things are constantly pushed back. It leans towards the vaporware tag RED have (maybe unjustly) earned.

Disappointing !

Ok, I am impressed. Dear Jim, please give some hint about the prices of new accessories, or date when we can hear about them. I don't know whether I would able to buy Scarlet 2/3" cinema package.

I love you all!

wait, so this has been a joke all along?? so I've imagined shooting on that crazy myth of a camera called RED ONE for the past year, when I could have just shot on an HVX all along? DAG NABBIT!

sir, your conspiracies intrigue me and I would like to subscribe to your magazine
