thanks guys!!

So am I to assume that a basic CF module, battery and I/O would be in the $750 range? (judging from the all-in-one Scarlet price tag)

The all-in-one Scarlet Fixed 8x doesn't have all those modules.

Jim

Yes, let's not start that. Although I have to agree with you...Dave, you're wacked... The EPIC X is brilliant......
...I'm really happy right now.
couldn't agree with you more!!!

i'm saying after you've got into the Epic market, six months later you're up for $35K for the FF35 with 3+ stops over RedOne and 4K chrominance rez and >fps (but how often do you use high frame rates on your R1). That to me is a hefty upgrade.
The point is i've got nothings against the epic X deal. It's great...Jim's kind/generous with it...no question.
But that SS35....6 months after you've used it you decide to sell it as the FF35 is launched at $7K more...good luck!
Dave

Anyone else notice the price difference between today announcement and the one on the 13th?

Everything from the Scarlet FF35 up has been reduced in price (except the S35 Epic).

Holy Crap!

The FF35 Scarlet is an Epic fu$$ing deal. That camera destroys most things on the market for 9750 (plus accessories).

Let's see,
I'm gonna need the 2/3rd Cinema, the FF35 Scarlet, and the 645 Epic.

Tom, about that bank robbing plan...

I have a question for those at Red:

Is the fact that “cinema” was added to the 2/3 Scarlet with interchangeable lenses a hint to those of us in the “broadcast” world that we should be looking elsewhere for a camera?

If not, why the term cinema?

Thanks

I think he meant JJ knew he was cheap, not calling Jim cheap.:)
who said so?..

me??! :w00t:

hey man you (not you Kyle) reminds me a few former students of mine.. the DVD screenings at classroom always had the option subtitles for deaf/hard of hearing students switched on.. ehehehehehehe

sorry.. i couldn't resist.. ehehehehehe

Ok, this announcement is ok, but i want to know does anyone else think it'"s a rip off that the spiky ball only has 10 spikes of dynamic pain? And then we have to pay extra to get 12 spikes of dynamic pain when the munstero comes out??? Wtf jim

hahahah:w00t:

HILARIOUS!!

BTW... how badly will the 2/3" Scarlet blow cameras like the HVX200 and Sony EX1 out of the water??? Those companies are gonna get rolled up and smoked.

To be fair, I am sure Canon and Panasonic won't just sit back and watch Scarlet roll in and take the spotlight. Scarlet won't be out for a long while; long enough for Canon and Panasonic to produce something new. Just sayin'.

I kind of assumed the "baseline" 2/3 Scarlet would have a specialized module encompassing all of that stuff. I think one of the original renderings tipped me off.

Is is safe to say that the fixed 2/3 Scarlet will have provisions for I/O, audio, etc., even though (technically) it's not sharing the same modules as the rest of the family?

Since Scarlet FF35 3K, 1-60fps is missing. Is the Quad HD better quality?
