I agree. Although it's only about a $3000 difference, that's still an additional $3000 for accessories and what not to your S35. It is still though quite tempting and even has me thinking twice. But I think I've got all I need with the S35.

It's a fantastic day and age to be in the business! May we all sleep sound tonight and dream of our cameras. Thank you SO much Red Team....:w00t:

Optically a full frame sensor and the extra pixels of the FF35 over the S35 Scarlets (not to mention DR etc.) is a very big deal (at least for us), for not a very significant price difference (at least for the work we do). The point being you can't get a "full frame" high res sensor that shoots 30 fps for anything less than totally insane money (if at all). That's why the FF35 Scarlet seems so amazing.

Updated Price List:

$3000 for 2/3" Fixed (Brain and Lens)
$3750 for 2/3" Fixed (Complete package)

(All the rest brains only, except Epic X )
$2500 for Scarlet 2/3"
$7000 for S35 Scarlet
$9750 for FF35 Scarlet
$28,000 for Epic X (Mysterium-X Select Sensor, includes some modules, RED One owners only)
$28,000 for Epic S35
$33,000 for Epic FF35
$43,000 for Epic 645
$53,000 for Epic 617

Jeff just saved me a few minutes by expressing my exact feelings.

And I'll take a 617 the minute it's ready ... or even a few months before it really is.

Nice move on the pricing Jim - ignore the noise.

Not that my opinion is important enough but I concur. I am in my happy place now.

So am I to assume that a basic CF module, battery and I/O would be in the $750 range? (judging from the all-in-one Scarlet price tag)

true.. barry is still doing his terrific job :cold: he should be next stuart or jan crittenden successor as panny :ninja:.

Hey Battery. I'm just curious why you don' like to post your real name? We're all close here...

If the difference between the 2/3" fixed lens/brain scarlet and the complete kit is $750, can we assume adding $750 worth of specific accessories to any brain will create a functional camera?

ok, everyone please stop helping that guy with the iphone

BTW... how badly will the 2/3" Scarlet blow cameras like the HVX200 and Sony EX1 out of the water??? Those companies are gonna get rolled up and smoked.

No doubt. Red's covered so many bases....
