  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DaVinci Resolve waveform monitor/RGB parade bug

It's only THE most major pro coloring program, you'd think they'd be all over this fix. Hmmm

It's also the one that's free. Which, at least to me, means that users really ought to give them a serious break when it comes to changing things that only a very few seem to find fault with. It also means that's one very major reason why it's as popular as it is. I think people here and elsewhere really should be thankful for the fact that it even exists, when in a "normal" business world there's no reason it should.

I understand where you're coming from about free software and all but the funky scope behavior also existed in the $995 and $24,995 versions as well as the paid version of UltraScope (and still does in FCPX, as far as I know).

In addition, although only a few people seemed to find fault with that behavior, the change benefits everyone and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find many (if any) people who would've preferred it to stay the way it was.

It may may seem like I was making an unreasonable request but Blackmagic Design ultimately agreed with me and eventually made the change. Either I'm more persuasive than I realize or it was less trivial than some may think...even for free software.
