Grading a short film right now, everything is conformed to the raw except the Vfx shots that are coming in as uncomPressed quicktimes. Those have been cut in on the timeline manually. Problem I'm having is every time I put some new Vfx shots into the media pool, resolve is automatically conforming these shots to other Vfx shots on the timeline and replacing them. I've tried locking the tracks and both checking and unchecking the "force conform" option on the individual Vfx clips but no luck, keep having to go back and fix the shots that got messed up when adding new clips. Anyone have a suggestion to stop this from happening? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

force a unique reel name into any new shots you're bringing in. Resolve is seeing the lack of reel name (and probably lack of unique timecode) as a conflict and trying to help by automatically replacing the shots in the timeline.

Thanks Brandon, I had tried that before but the reel names weren't taking. So I had to set the "assist using reel names from the source clip file" in the config page, then gave them custom reels, and everything works fine now.

Right on, may ask for those on the next one.
