Question, why would you like to record r3d outside of camera?
Two reasons. If it would be possible to record to a cheaper source with sustained reliability I would be glad. By now I would hoped the red mags would go down in price.
Also It would be cool if you could bring your atomos recorder and sit down and review footage and mark good takes or what not without having needing the camera. I dont know what is possible. But im curios if anobody knows what we could expect.

So you're not limited to Red's slow poke data rates and could record 1:2 or 1:1 if you want on inexpensive SSD's.

Those Samsung PM983 7.68TB 2GB/s seq. write, for $1500 are tempting.
Maybe BMD will jump on it for their new 6..8k camera or a Kinefinity.

I don't see RED jumping on that wagon, MiniMags are part of their business model, as is REDcodeRAW compressed RAW.

Fusion is still unusable for me, like Resolve 15. I'm just gonna forget the Fusion tab exists until I get a new machine
Windows 10, Asus P9X79 Pro, i7-3930K, 32GB RAM, 1x GTX 770 4GB

We're in the same ballpark with our older workstations 3960x, 32G and 970's.
When the predictions are right we're gonna invest in 3 new workstations in june/july, memory prices will be back to normal, Ryzen 9 3800x and a Radeon VII.

The new Cut Panel - DaVinci Resolve 16

By MrAlexTech

What do you think? I'm really liking it so far!

I thin it'll make for a much easier introduction into DaVinci Resolve for beginners and will be useful for throwing together quick videos.

5 Minute Friday #16

Speed Ramps! Super cool and, surprisingly easy to do! I'd highly recommend using higher frame rate footage for this, 120fps is ideal but 60fps would work too!

I finally got around to creating an Amazon Store, which i'll be populating as I go. If you want to know what camera equipment I use for my videos, go ahead and take a look:

You can find me here as well:

I am using DaVinci Resolve 16 and you should be too. It's amazing, powerful and free. I only use the free version so everything I show is available without paying a penny.

I hope this found this useful :) Thanks for watching.

Hi Rand, is this published somewhere on the BMD website?

Yes here.

You can also find it on page 8 or 9 of the Davinci Resolve 16 New Features Guide. But it does say Mac OSX there. It says something to that effect on the second screengrab but it also doesn't say Windows and AMD.
