  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Assuming matched lenses, how well will Dragon cut with other Red? I know of a lot of productions that depend on One Mx bodies as back-usp and B-cams to Epics (including 100% of our Epic shoots).

Will that still work under adequately lit scenarios? WIll Red release a "matching LUT" we could use to help the process?
 
I think that's essentially what currently exists with Dragon on RG3/RC3. It gets you fairly close, although dynamic range is different. DragonColor and Gamma will be their own thing though.
 
I'm hoping that we'll be able to use DG/DC with MX footage and have it hopefully react okay... As in, doesn't get super wonky and matches everything it can (other than the extended DR and more accurate colour). Something tells me that might not be feasible though.

Thank you Phil. Not every shot is 2 cam, but it's nice to know that even if we shoot with a Dragonized Epic, we can choose RedGamma3 (for just these multi cam scenes) and have the cameras match pretty well.
