  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

CS6 6.02 update is crazy buggy???

I installed the update before I saw this thread. I reinstalled the RED importer after the upgrade. Haven't had any problems at all. Windows 7.

I noticed that the update replaced the text file in the Premiere contents folder indicating which GPU cards were accepted for Mercury Playback. I needed to modify that file again to allow the program to see both my cards. Assume it did the same for the OpenCL playback cards.

Don't know if this is the answer, but if you are running CUDA cards its worth a shot. The File is in the same place as the ImporterREDServer: Adobe Premiere Pro CS6/Contents/cuda_supported_cards.txt

CUDA hack link above. Takes seconds to download and seconds to install.

I had a lot of these issues (MacPro 10.7/10.8) until I updated my CUDA Drivers. I don't need the GPU hack (Have a Quadro) but those with unsupported cards will have to re-apply it. I'm thinking the majority of the problems can be tracked back to the CUDA thing as I'm now seeing even better performance than before. PPCS6 6.0.2 with the newest (Preview3) RED color science installed now performing as advertised.

Interesting to see such varied results. I'm aslo wondering if some of these issues could possibly be related to Mountain Lion?

It sounds like there are a number of issues here....everything from patch updating to possible CUDA hack / drivers to Mountain Lion.
Anyone that's still having problems please post as much info / update as you can and also feel free to e-mail me. whowell at adobe dot com.

I've been running no problem with mountain lion on the last build.

Just left you a voicemail.

Everyone, please keep the info coming. I'll be in touch with anyone that wants to send me an e-mail or phone number.
We'll get this figured out.

Having all the same issues as everyone.

Never should have updated durring the middle of my project....(classic, i know) I am under insane deadline and none of my stuff is online or showing preview,
i tried downloading the red importer again...no luck. I am getting a red rocket warning when i launch prem pro cs6...and i notice it says its conforming clips on the bottom right of my timeline. Never noticed that. Here we go. C

Hey Adobe! how about an updated installation guide for the Red Plugins for CS6? The only one I could find was the old one from CS5.5: http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/redepic_importer/redepic_importer_install_premiere.pdf
Not only was it old, it was difficult to find.
Anyways - All of my RED media was pending in older projects after the update as well, but re-Installing the Adobe Labs plugin seems to have fixed the issue. Im on a Mac Pro with a Quadro 4000 - running CUDA driver 5.0.24.

If you uninstall and use the CS cleaner tool, and then resinstall 6 everything works ok.

Clarify...reinstall 6 or 6 with the latest update .2

Clayton, I would probably refrain from updating to 6.0.2 as that appears to be the source of some of your issues.
I'm working on getting more info / getting more testing done.

Also, can you provide some details of your system? Are you using a rMBP?

Wes

Yes, we did not reinstall the .2 update. That screwed us up really bad.

Editing this post out of humiliation.

....Just figured it out. Sorry. Scrolling down helps....
