  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

CS4 installer to support build 20?

Great question

Great question

Thanks for asking. Here's hoping that it will be soon!

Deanan,
A lot of people now have a Red workflow integrated with Adobe Premiere/After effects and would (obviously) like the benefits of v20 integrated into their workflow.
Understand if the delivery date is out of your hands, but 'some' indication i.e. within 1/3/6 months would be a courtesy terribly appreciated.
I know what happened last Adobe release. Would it be more appropriate to ask Adobe?
Dave,

Dave,

I would guess within a month but don't know for sure.
I'd let Adobe know your interest also as feedback always helps.

I really want to use the new features of V 20. Can it be used with the current Red-Adobe PC software at all? In other words can we use it and just avoid certain things?

Dave

Dave, the footage imports and reads just fine, only thing you miss is the new debayer algorithm but you can still colour correct around it.

That said, let me add my voice to the calls for a build 20 compatible plugin to be released sooner rather than later!

why don't you ask Adobe and Deanan for a build 22 Premiere release now, then when build 22 comes out, you won't have to wait ;) :w00t:

Deanan,
From your answer I assume Adobe is on the critical path for the release of this plugin.
Now whether that suggests acceptance/integration testing (or development) by Adobe, I assume the release of this plugin is now dependant on Adobe...is this correct?
Dave,

Any word on this? I am about to do a shoot this weekend with Build 20 and my system is a Windows with CS4. Does this mean I will lose Red's new color space when I import my R3D footage?

you won't get all the new color science benefits. There's a bit of improvement in the camera firmware but most is in the new api which is in Red s/w products & FCP but not CS4 yet. It'll still work fine but won't be as good as it could be.

Any update on when Abobe will be compliant with Red's build 20?
Rocket support is indeed cool but 90% of Abobe/Red users just want support for v20 (or v21 as it's out now).
I'm guessing (hope not) Adobe have bundled them in together (rocket/v20 support).

Not directed at Deanan but anyone with communication from Adobe at IBC or otherwise.

Update please Adobe to Build 21
that color science would be so useful on current projects.

THANK YOU

Amen.
