Hey,
For my story I need to simulate a small footage as if it would come through very bad internet connection, heavily pixelated, skipping, freezing, falling apart etc...
Is there any simple method to do this?

Thanks

sapphire jpeg damage is quite good.

Or the real deal... make small quicktimes upress them make a quicktime again with low bitrate, composite together and use multiple different codex... it goes south quite quickly and it 's the real deal :)

Gabor, you may want to also look at the Twitch plug-in from Video Copilot. Very simple to use with lots of parameters you can adjust. It'll give you a "bad connection/skipping" effect. For the pixelated effect, I'd go with Bjorn's method. Of course, you can also composite over TV static and scan lines for added effect.

Mixing the two methods together in a final composition should come close to what you're looking for.

Thanks everyone!

I need to check them out in detail, but it's amazing to see the wide range of opportunities out there! The products of Video Copilot seem amazing! So I'll be back soon I think! Thanks!
