Hello Fellow Reds

Other than Kessler what would you recommend from experience for a commercial duty, multi function Slider/Jib? I'm looking at the Mattews DC Slider and HD DC Slider. Seems like a smart design and I have always had good luck with that brand.

What else should I be looking at on the floor of NAB? Sticks to go with as well.

Thank you in advance!

Looks cool for tall shots. Remote 360 could be fun. Concerned about the low payload at full extension and with the remote head. I guess if you strip off the Side Handle, 5" Screen and have a remote battery then it might work.

Gotta say that Libec Swift Jib looks pretty great. I'll need to try that out for sure.

What does that Swift Jib cost?

Jeez. It's effectively the SevenJib, for more than double the cost.

I haven't used the SevenJib before, have you? The tiny demo video on their website doesn't show any actual footage taken with the jib, except for one shot at 1:40 that has obvious sway. I've already got a $500 jib that can hold a camera, but it doesn't make professional moves so it doesn't get used much.

Let's flash mob the Lebec booth and report live to our Red Brothers ; )

Camera movement is my primary interest in this year's NAB: Slider, Dolly, Tracks, Jib, Crane, Remote Control of Epic, Remote Focus etc, Motion Control, Steady Cam, Gyro, Car Mounts, Suspension Aloft, Innovative Angle Mounts and Devices . . . anyone else interested in comparing notes while there? Let's meet up at the RED Party and chat. PM me

I can vouch for the SevenJib. Use it often in professional environments. I've been building dollies, cranes and jib arms for over 10 years and the SevenJib is a good value.

If you'd like to see some shots taken by the Seven Jib, just watch any episode of LOUIE on FX. Also it's a great show.

Hey Doug, Any updates coming for the Seven in the next couple months?

+1 for the Seven Jib. I love mine. Good value. Had it loaded up with an Oconnor 2060 and a full RED One package. We had so much weight on the balance end I was worried about breaking it but it performed like a champ. I am looking forward to a lighter setup with the EPIC.

Just wait to see what Doug has planned... it will make these other jib arms look like toys.

Oh really? :-).

I've almost pulled the trigger several times on the sevenJib, I really want to buy it, I just havent yet had the right opportunity. I'm curious how it gets better.

No changes to the 7 Jib. I just did a custom mod for Louie so that you can build it standard, or shorty for tight interiors, no tool changeover.

Might shoot some stuff soon with the Spyder Jib, still in testing mode.

Well played Doug! You have some solid support from quality existing customers. Missed it maybe - you at NAB?
