Hello, I formatted my RED Mini Mag and I was able to play back the videos in my camera, when I just download them, I cannot play them at all, just some can be played and I have no idea how to fix it, it seems like they are not recognized by the Red Cinema Pro.

The clips appear as "offline"

How can I fix this? since its half of my footage! I already try mounting from the copy on my HD and directly from the minimag

Best

How did you copy the footage to your hard drive?

I'm not seeing what you mean about a weird rectangle image, looks like a normal widescreen image to me, the low contrast towards the bottom appears to be caused by the bokeh from something in the foreground like a bush you're shooting through.

I see what your talking about in RCX but what I was wondering is in the actual file trunk or the folder of your files when you select each clip file in side there should be a single or a few R3d files and in that same folder or file there should be a RMD file. Try taking that RMD file out of the folder or file and place it in a safe spot. Then go and re open Red Cine and see if the file is not offline any more.. If its still offline replace the RMD and talk to your bomb rep.

Here is an example of what and where the RMD file would be.
Sometimes if you remove the RMD file the clip will no longer show up as offline.. and you might be able to see the clip.
good luck.

Your right Bob, I was just suggesting that he try to remove the RMD as I have in the past had a couple issues with the Offline showing up in RCX and removing the RMD helped fix this issue.
Probably was a one off and may not work on all situations with an Offline issue.

RMD isn't that important as it can be regenerated. Is there permission issues with the folder?

Wait a second. You can regenerate an RMD? Oh please tell me!! I had corrupt footage on a feature doc I shot and was able to recover using Redundead. BTW, +100000 for Redundead. Anyway, the recovered files don't have an RMD.

So how do I do that?

What version of RCX are you using? Have you tried using the latest 50.1 release?
