I came across this issue recently and thought I would share.

I went to shoot some buffalo and had my RED Dragon in cold 25° F for about 45 minutes. The following week, I did some indoor 72° F studio shooting. I noticed I had a slight green stripe down the right side of the footage. It was also present when I turned the camera on. I was concerned because it was a sensor issue, however it disappeared after a new black shade. I don't black shade as often as I should.

A little difficult to see on web.

Thanks for sharing, Tom. Great example of the importance of blackshading! It can be easy to skip the process from job to job.... but I try to do new blackshade during prep before every shoot to get myself in the habit and to hopefully prevent the above issues!

Yep.

Sensor Calibration should be run on major temperature changes, in you case nearly 50 degrees? That's nearly like being on another planet. Do the shade.

If you are filming all week withing 15-20 degrees you can likely get away with it, but I'd still do it if you are feeling over a 10 degree difference because I'm more picky than not.
