  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Correct/ Easiest way to reconnect offline edit from FCP to original R3d and back?

Explain this because it's driving me fvcking CRAZY!! I just opened an original r3d file and seen the duration is 1:58 but when I convert it , it only does 1:16. Why in the world does it do that? I cleared all in and out points. I also verified with my original proxy converted files that this clip os indeed 1:58. When I open Red Cine Pro to convert the file though it does not do the whole thing, why does it do this? Really driving me crazy here

Are you exporting with the correct frame rate? Go into the export settings your using and verify its set to the correct fps.

The other question is even though RedcineX tells you the clip duration is 1:58 can you scrub through it all the way past 1:16? or does it freeze/blank out after that? If it does that then it is missing an R3D segment.

If it's missing a segment why would that actual clip tell me it is a certain time length?

because its embedded in the metadata....It knows the full length it just needs all the segments to complete the clip...so if you deleted a segment, its an incomplete clip and Redcine will export whatever it has of the clip. In your case 1:16 seconds as its missing the last segment...

Ha, thanks man. I'm basically going to use combination or Pro Res Proxy, Hq & LT for the project. Just going to have to make it work
