  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cool music video

All I can say is, Oh My God! That was stunning.

Just goes to show that you don't need shallow dof, anamorphic flares and a cine esque look to make a good music video, just a boatload of creativity and good old fashioned work.

Wow.....

Well... actually, I think this goes to show you that you need a phenomenal Steadicam operator and a boatload of good luck to pull off something like that in one continuous take. Sheesh! :)

I like how it begins with them covered in paint...so they'd had a few goes before "the" take!!

By the way I'm not sure it's all one shot - isn't there a subtle cheat/cut with the curtain near the end (curtains are always a bit of a dead give-away!!)? You can see a light source through the curtain but it doesn't line up with the real light source once the curtain is drawn. Still damned impressive, and some great Steadicamming...

True. Still, you could shoot something pretty close with the same setup using a dvx and a glidecam. The vid is certainly impressive from a creative standpoint.

OK Go are video innovators. Didn't they win a Grammy a few years back? I loved the video & song but dare I say it could use a grade to push and pull it a bit.

The camera setup is clearly visible starting at 2m29s in:

You gotta love those big reflective balls.

From the making of videos I gather they have some actual rocket scientists and MIT Media Lab people involved, but the timing is rather phenomenal. However they pulled it off, I loved it and my kids can't stop watching.

Ya, I saw the camera too but if that is the least of their mistakes, than mission accomplished.

Problem is all those gizmos and contraptions are far more interesting
then the music..by a longshot.
