Thinking about eventually getting a set of cooke speed panchros rehoused at either TLS or PS Technik. I've used the TLS rehoused cookes many times on set and they are brilliant. Wondering if anyone has had experiences using PS Technik? Which lens rehousing would you suggest?

I just worked with a P+S rental set that was just serviced and a few of the lenses had image shift. The marks were also not well spaced, I like the TLS rehousing much better. The Van Diemen rehousing is also very good, but TLS 'Cooke' housings look the best :)

Just had a set done by TLS. It's worth the extra cost.

They TLS costs more to have re-housed, and can take a long time to get done. When I've checked in the past Ive heard back order time quotes from 9 months to a year, but maybe TLS is caught up these days. You can find used sets of both versions of re-housings. Commonly the used sets of TLS will be 55-65k, and the PS 40-50k.

Sometimes the sets will be 6 lenses or 7 lenses depending on whether the 100mm is a part of the set. That will obviously effect the used set prices above.

The PS can work fine and save you dollars, its the same glass inside. If you want smoother mechanics, and better service ability then TLS may be worth the higher costs. If you'd rather save the money (because it will look the same) then PS might be worth the trade off. Ive heard of the complaints of image shift with PS, but we had a set for a year and never had that issue.
