These don't pop up to often. While not super fast, it is a very good compact zoom. I took a pair of them and put custom extenders behind them to cover 65mm five perf. The image was spectacular albeit a bit slow (around f9 if I recall right).

Be sure to get him to throw in the support ring and bridge.

One more thing. It looks like it's hanging on an Aaton, you might be able to get the price down because you will have to put it in PL mount to use it on the RED camera. One nice thing about this lens is that it was made with the Cooke "Universal mount system" so it will not be diffcult to convert to Arri PL.

It's marked in Feet & meters too!

That's an Aaton 35. It's a PL mount.

I like thee lenses. We used to have one in rental but sold it to a REDuser.

Thanks Mitch. Would not have thought that Aaton would have ever made any thing compatiable with anyone elses standards. lol

True Stephen. Unlike some that came with wierd as focale length, footage and aperture scales. lol

Hi Chuck,

The focus scale was OK, just the focal lengths doubled & Stop 2 stops too slow!

I actually bought the one Mitch was talking about. It's a very beautiful lens that is very sharp at T3.1 and tack sharp at T5.6. I notice that on mine, it's got metric markings, but they are not painted in. It looks like either they were worn off (which would be weird as all the yellow marking paint on the lens is still in great shape) or someone kinda filled them in in a very poor manner.

Will see what that one goes for as I am getting ready to sell mine to make way for prime lenses (T3.1 just isn't quite fast enough for a lot of my work.)

There has been a lot of chatter about Cooke lenses being individually engraved on the footage scales. This may be true for the primes, but I do know for a fact that one could buy footage scales in either mertic or imperial form the factory.

Matthew,

If I had the spare change I would buy your lens as it was something special.

I have an excellent 10-30 T1.6 Cooke that covers 2k. It is in Aaton mount but can be converted to PL for about $300. PM if interested.
