  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Seems like the RED Gunner can take at least 3 additional memory modules, allowing us for really long run shootings.

And the additional slots may be used "in sync" as a RAID to increase I/O performance for higher bandwith RED Code implementations?

I think a solid tripod locked down and sand-bagged would be very convenient. Imagine reviewing dailies on location on a huge 4k/2k projection! Then use your Red + Gunner to finish your CC in post! :)

Couldn't get any better than that. :D
 
An onboard projector for viewing dailies? Sounds far fetched but, still really cool and technologically "out there".

I get the feeling that we have no idea what the Gunner is designed for. Prepare to be underwhelmed or very pleasantly surprised.

I think you are spot on. Prepare for... ANYTHING! :)

Unless it is a blender, then we'll be scratching our heads for weeks trying to figure out how to feel about it. lol
 
Wow. (just read the whole thread) Nice renders. Red gunner? It's got numbers, it's got a shoulder mount, it connects to the front of the camera and since we have not seen any other angle it could also connect to the back. Maybe it relates to run and gun, so perhaps it's a gyroscope module or maybe an external sound recorder.

It's not a projector

All this speculation makes me think of what a USC Professor of mine told me “Eons” ago at Film School about “Vacuum Deducting”; When there is no information, we will make it-up! The quote is not exact after all it was “Eons” ago! But whatever it is, it will be a surprise!

The guys in the Red labs must laughing so hard at these ideas. In fact they're pointing and laughing. In fact they don't even find it that funny but they're STILL pointing and laughing.

I'd like to point out that we peoples over at Scarletuser collectively guessed what DSMC would be last year after the everything has changed announcement. Monkeys? Typewriters?
