  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Control...

4 of the REDVOLT batteries equal 1 of the RED BRICKS... 1 of the REDVOLT batteries last between 40min. and 1 hour.. depending on what you are doing.

4 REDVOLT batteries should work for 3 hours (more or less) with EPIC and Scarlet... thank the ASIC. Remember that they are hot-swappable.

i almost forgot about the batteries being hotswappable - good news: no switronix anymore.

best wishes,

Was the RedFocusing going to work with RedGun? The RedGun has to control the camera too, right?

Just to clarify... the batteries are hot-swappable if you have the battery module. They are not if all you have is the battery in the handle.

Jim

The REDGUN returns! Hopefully it isn't bulky, or too costly. ;)

All the modules have a sleek looking design so far to say the least. Definitely a step up in regards to bad ass design while maintaining improved functionality.

Just a small concern, I see that the heat sink is up at the top of the cam and has a raised yet hollow shell where the air intake is.....This could lead to a large amount of dirt buildup as well as difficulty with self cleaning no?

This is coming from someone who regularly brushes/vacuums off the side air intakes on his RED.

No. That is the exhaust. And the cooling chamber is completely isolated from the electronics. Plus, the fan is removable and cleanable/replaceable by the operator. Easy. Four screws from the front. Think sealed tunnel.

As long as its better than this:

hehe... just a bit better than that.

Jim

I'm sure the RedGunner will also control the DSMC.

Do you all anticipate how often the cooling chambers are going need to be cleaned, at least in a reasonable production situation? Are we talking at the end of every day, or more like once or twice a month? Or is this still a variable completely up in the air?
Peace,

Jim...you are too cool. :hat:

Thanks for the countless hours of hard work. Still no word on REDCast? Is that something you guys still have plans for?

You know their ultimate goal is to rule the world!

Is a brick hot swappable if you have the grip? (Run on Grip while swapping bricks)?

If all you are using is the battery in the grip... you'll need to shut down and swap. Good news is that it is a less than 2 sec. start up.
