Hey gang just wrapped up a History Channel shoot...Epic + Contax!! Came out great. Will post samples soon as I can!
@Brice - love your Paris and musician pics!! The 35-70 is great yes! Need to use mine more. The 28-85 comes out so often these days.
@Ben - great pics as always!!!
So...I had RP lens help me out. Peter basically used DELRIN to create an 80OD front for me. We use the Cavision hood/clamps to then clamp on filtration to the 18. Make sense?

Totally agree. The 60 Macro has killed for us as a portrait lens too. A fantastic, fantastic lens. The 100 rarely gets used. Almost always the 60 comes out!Seconded. The 60mm Macro is another killer lens. I use it for portrait more than for macro.
Justen, the 18mm is a fun lens, but yes...the 80mm front issue can be tricky. Basically, here's the answer. The 70-86 step up hood isn't practical, as then you need to STEP DOWN to 77mm (at least I did). The whole thing ends up being bulky, and with only a filter or two ours vignetted at 4K MX. Seemed silly that our FF 18mm was vignetting at 4K...Also quick question for you guys. I'm thinking about buying the 18mm to round out my set. I have 80mm fronts for all my other lenses. I'm a bit confused at the 70mm to 86mm screw in ring thread I keep reading about for the 18mm. Is there any feasible way to put an 80mm front on the 18mm or is it to difficult? Or would it not matter either way as the angle would be too wide and the hood/front be in frame?

Wow. Contax 35-70 on Dragon. Jealous!!!Just picked up a 35-70 from KEH, nice to be joining the club. Should arrive around the same time as my epic dragon. Fun!
Great question. I'd considered having Peter at RP lens do this for me. I'd reach out to him.Does anyone make gears for the 35-70 that cover the push pull range?
David, much like Ben, we rarely tilt up or down on ours too much...+ so far that hasn't been an issue, but I could see your concern. One thing you could do is add a GEAR RING to the focus barrel, and then lock the focal length in by attaching your follow focus to the gear (if that makes sense!). Our 28-85 has a focus gear on it (for this very reason!), but to be honest...I find we rarely even consider using it...but for what you need..could be useful!Speaking of the 28-85mm zoom, how loose the zoom is supposed to be? I think mine is a bit too much, I wish it was a bit harder. How much can you guys pan up or down without it moving?
