  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Congrats England on a Wonderful Olympic Games

Eric Idle and 'Always look on the Bright side of life'... was a highlight... the line 'life's a piece of sh*t' even made i in - crazy and wonderful :)

Was I the only person who thought the closing ceremony was terrible? It was an incoherent mess with some really poor choices of performers. The rest of the games were excellent, but the closing ceremony missed Danny Boyle's craft and guidance.

Nope, totally agree with you Liam. I think the guy who did this completely missed the tone set by the opening ceremony and the games themselves. Can't really blame him for that because he started a while ago, but he might have had a word with Boyle about what he was planning before pressing "Confirm" on the One Direction online booking form. My fave moment: Jessie J imploring that it's not about the money from the back of a convertible Rolls Royce.

Both the opening and closing ceremonies had their fair share of crap moments. That sort of fun, glee dancing and forced spectacle just doesn't sit well with me....

Also, why the same songs during the athletes entrance? 60 years of musical heritage on our national ipod and someone just hit the repeat button!

Eric Idle saved the day though, class!

Your quite right, I don't know what the bloke who designed it had in his head, Jessie and Eric rule though.

And what were those Orange helmets about ? Is it my age or something ?

Congratulations to England on a wonderful Olympics. The opening and closing ceremonies were aspirational.
Danny Boyle did a wonderful job taking the Olympic ideals beyond the pure commercial and sterile set pieces
of previous games.
And this is coming from an Irishman !
The ceremonies were full of historic references as well as organised chaos, without the feeling we were watching
a carefully crafted piece of PR. Although the references were there, the sense of fun and genuine aspiration and social
responsibility shone through.
Congratulations to one and all.

Why would you just congratulate England and not the three other countries that comprise team GB?
