Hi guys,

I am grading a documentary in Resolve at the moment and I am totally new to this awesome piece of software.

I stumbled upon a problem when exporting either a still or a clip from Resolve to H264, ProRes, DPX, DNxHD, JPEG, TIFF or any other output.
There is a slight color shift (i think it's only saturation) happening from resolve to the export.

I'm using a 27'' HP DreamColor screen for grading, a second one for monitoring and have a third consumer samsung screen.

I printscreened the three screens and even then the resolve colors are shifted in the JPEG.

Below are the results.

Really no idea what's happening here.

Kind regards,
Davy

You are likely moving into completely different color spaces with varying gamuts. It is to be expected.

Check your monitor settings under system preferences and as a test set the monitors color calibration to sRGB 2.1 and see if that's what's causing the difference in output.

I tried different color spaces / gamuts and I couldn't fix the problem.
After reading numerous posts regarding the same problem I finally found a fix.

In my Resolve settings the Data Levels were checked on and in the delivery settings the Video Levels were checked on.
I tried to render the edit with Data Levels checked on in the Delivery tab and it seems that fixed the problem for me.

Still have a difference when exporting a single still, but this could be a photoshop bug/settings problem.

Ah, a fairly common mistake and one I made myself once. RTFM ;-)

Windows 8.1 tries to put a color profile on every display that it downloads from their update servers. Unfortunately they have no idea what your monitor actually looks like, so when Photoshop opens the file, it tries to color manage your image to the .icc profile that was made by god knows who.

If you don't have a way to calibrate your own display, disassociate all color profiles from your display to try and rule out any color management issues.
