So please enlighten me. I have a 30" Apple Cinema Display and the new Panasonic 25.5" Studio Monitor. I am told by many that the color accuracy of the Panasonic is what I should be basing my CC decisions on. My experience so far is the opposite.

The Panasonic is supposed to be 10-Bit and the Apple 8-bit yet the Apple display is FAR SHARPER than the Panny. Also- the Panasonic is much more pastel with regard to color saturation than the Apple in any given shot.

The Panny is setup in Studio/post gamma and the Apple Display is setup at 2.2 gamma (yes I have also tried the advanced custom setup procedure). My final product ends up in 1080P (for now) and when I correct for the Apple Display vs the Panny Display, what I see broadcast is more accurate to the Apple Display. I know there are factors beyond my control on the transmission end BUT.... is there anyone else out there that feels the Apple Cinema Display is MORE accurate than the new Panny 25.5" or other so-called CC monitors?

Are u running it out of a black majic or Aja card to the panny monitor? n u need to calibrate it too for more accurate corrections. I've seen red footage on several studio monitors. No computer monitor looks even close to as good.

All broadcast and CC quality monitors need calibrating for pluge and coloromitry, especially when new. As for sharpness, detail can be adjusted as well, but most are smoother and 'softer' than computer monitors. Don't expect them to be correct for you out of the box.

It's been my personal experience that ACDs are too warm and are nearly impossible to get really well calibrated. But that was exclusively with older ACDs, they have have tweaked the internals when they released the 30" but I would be inclined to trust the panny.
