So... I have the MMB-1 red bundle mattebox with the bellow (its 114mm)
And now I need a Circle pola for the bellows.. but I can only find 138mm..
Am I shit out of the luck?
theres no way I am, because Why make a 114mm bellows if you cant stick a 114mm circle filter in there.. RIGHT?

Zakaree, if you cannot locate a circular Pola from someone else, give Abel a call. If all else fails we could have one special ordered for you, but I'm sure we can supply it. Feel free to email me privately.

It's a standard 4 1/2 inch. (Do the math -- 4.5" = 114.3 mm.)

Y'know, I'm so used to translating that I didn't even clue in that this may be why he couldn't find what he was looking for.

What baffles me is that we call one size 4.5" round instead of 114mm yet call another 138mm round instead of 5.5". Perhaps one started as a common size in metric territory and the other in imperial.

Just about the bloody time America switched to units and measures used in civilised countries

Ok so i just received my pola but this has it's own built in rotating ring and doesn't look like it will fit in the MB. Why is this glass such a pain to order?

Mitch??

Just order a regular pola, not rotating.
Can't you find one easily? Strange.

Totally the wrong item. That's designed to mount to a lens with one part and then the other part rotates. Ivan, this has happened before. Haven't you learned what happens when you order from the other guys instead of getting it through us? ;-)

Return that thing and let th or us make it right.

No disrespect, Mitch, but it took me three times to get it right from Abel.

For the record, it needs to have a metal frame, because if it doesn't, it will be too small for the 4.5" ring in the MMB-1, but it can't be a screw-thread filter.

Schneider 4-1/2" Round Tru Pol.
Has a metal ring and rotates 360degrees in my MMB1.
Highly Reccomended.

Yes! I hate inches and more so the fractions 2-3/8" stupid! I do most of my CNC machining and CAD work in mm. Its way faster/easier/with less mistakes than inches/fractions.

It immigrated over with the Britts. I guess we are hanging on to our roots?

Prost,
Rich

We sell numerous brands and many models. I'm not going to list all the possible product codes, as you can talk to a Sales Rep. about them. Here are just a couple:

TI-412POL Tiffen 4 1/2" Linear Polarizer (drop-in)
BO-BF 4.5-CP2000RH Formatt 4.5" Round HD Circular Polarizer

I know that we have at least one of the Formatt's in stock. We also sell Schneider filters and within each brand we sell linear, circular, "water white". Ultra-pol, True-Pol, etc. There are lots of options.

David, I'm well aware of your personal situation (I was the one who corrected it in the end) and we have better trained that Salesperson so that such a mistake does not happen again. We're always working to get better.

stopped in Abel today and the only thing about this mattebox that bugs me, correct me if I am wrong mitch, is that I need to spend around 300 bucks in step down rings and couple hundred more to make the MB top loading so I can use my grads. Other then having to spend 500 bucks on top to make it work for me, I will say its a solid compact matte box. I was about to pull trigger until I saw REDs MB.
