Was browsing the DIYFilmtool store and saw this

Anybody spot these in the wild yet? I like the SDI/HDMI without having to use converters and 500ft/1000ft range. $2K for 500ft. seems like a good deal, pending a field test.

If it passes the field test, then the question for me becomes would I rather pay $1K more for a Bolt 300 SDI/HDMI or $3.5K more for a 600, or wait for Paralinx to offer an Arrow X SDI/HDMI system?

6.5W ... a shade more than the Weapon will be able to supply via USB (5W).

AJ

I believe you are referring to voltage, not wattage. All three of the above need at least 7V to power - hence the lemo power port.

USB is a 5V spec. Jetpack Expander is designed to power a Nyries, Paralinx, CMR, or other wireless HDMI stick transmitter.

Good point Doug.

I was indeed looking at this from the perspective of the USB 1 Amp / 5 Volt / 5 Watt max that the Weapon Jetpack can supply.

This device is 4 pin Lemo / and requires 6.5 V -> 16.8 V

AJ.

I e-mailed DIYFilmtool a week ago and they have not responded. I'm disappointed.

This does not bode well for their success.

If ActionProducts has a pulse in customer service, I'd recommend passing on CineGears.

The ActionProducts looks like the same product in a different housing... that said, ActionProducts hopefully (probably) has better support, they have better accessories bundled in, and they are offering a group buy discount. I also prefer the look of the ActionProducts version housing. Are they the same product or is it the type of thing where some OEM makes a basic board for the inputs/outputs and then manufacturers can add their own details and components?

I have one directly from the manufacturer. It's an excellent unit. Solid, easy to use, and very reliable. I ran the group buy for the manufacturers 1000ft/300m wireless unit and everyone loved them. Not a single complaint. They have been used at NBA Playoff games, NFL games, and now MLB games as well as every other type of production. Definitely worth the purchase. And in all black. The silver version is unfriendly to pro shoots...

Feel free to contact me for info if you're curious...

I'll be using the heck out of these shortly! Will keep you guys posted on my findings

The 300m/1000ft and 150m/500ft are both extremely solid. Been using them for quite a while. Lots of others would back that up. Much better than the competitors in that price range.

Does anyone know what comes with the 150m tx/rx package? D-Tap to DC plug? Anything?

Thanks Matt! I know the action products Eclipse has the same innards - any reason I should wait for that when we can purchase the Cinegears one now?
