What is the cheapest accessory to control the menu of the RED DSMC2 body. I am looking for a back up option in case my monitor doesn't work in middle of a shoot. I have a blackmagic video assist monitor and in the event of the touch monitor not working I would like to have something on hand to control the cameras menu that is not through a app or the WIFI. Something dedicated.

So far I have found

Teradek RT Assistant $900
DSMC2 Side Handle $950
DSMC2 SIDEKICK $1150
DSMC2 RED TOUCH 4.7 $1450

Is there anything else that cheaper to just control the menu that would work as soon as you turn on the camera and not have to setup a wifi setting.

I use the Semote when on the Ultimate Arm car and it works great, but it's up around 3,000.00.

You could find a used 5" touch screen for about 500-600, and keep that as backup.

Fool control on iphone. But not so reliable.
Fool control with control cable is really reliable.
But I would buy the small touch screen as a backup /option.

Realized the Teradek RT Assistant and Portkeys Handle universal camera controller both require the red setting to be set to accept their control. So defeats the purpose of a dedicated camera control to fully control it.

So its down to
DSMC2 Side Handle $950
DSMC2 SIDEKICK $1150
DSMC2 RED TOUCH 4.7 $1450

Guess I will be on the look out for a used red touch monitor or sidekick.
