Are you officially speaking for RED? I have personally wanted a RED-One at the time could´t afford one - saved everything I could so I could by a Scarlet S35 that was 2 years ago then I waited Scarlet S35 became Epic-S then Epic-S became the pet project with not ship date other then a vague "when all EPIC-X orders are shipped and Scarlet is out the door" then comes the "strategy change" (the second time in 6 month this has been announced so no surprise really) then comes a vague two line "roadmap" that leaves out the bastard child completely. Its a bit a kick in the stomach - might be that its still alive but we won´t hear about it anymore - that pretty much for me with a bunch of 35mm glass laying around but no body I have nowhere to go I am deeply frustrated and I am now left out in the cold dark night without any information on where home is or when I might reach it. So any and all speculation is on the table - that is the nature of the new policy if we are not allowed to do it here there will be other forums about gossip and rumors and RED is not apple 8 years ago - nowhere near and I would argue it will hurt them more then it helps them because for me personally if there is a camera that does 1080p with an almost lossless compression that can take PL glass for a price range the scarlet s35 was originally announced I am the first one to abandon this red bandwagon cause all I got til now is hopes and fresh kicks in the stomach.
Since Epic-S was originally announced I would expect to those who wait here a clear official "Epic-S will ship at some point" or "Epic-S is dead but expect some equivalent or better replacement" or "Epic-S is dead" comment. I don´t think its to much to ask for those waiting for TWO years+ and dreaming a dream that might never be fulfilled.
