Hi all,

Maybe this is obvious, but I've never had to do it and can't figure out a way to. I accidentally shot some high frame rate footage at 48fps time-base, when I should have shot for 24fps time-base. Wondering if there is anyway to change this in post. There must be, it's such a simple thing. I've looked around Redcine-X but can't find a way to do it.

Would appreciate some advice!

It should be possible within RCXP but I forgot how to. In flame, format frame rate 24p and tap on the clip. Another workaround that is "r3d destructive" is to export as frames and import in NLE with choosen framerate.

Dylan, if you're using Premiere to edit, the easiest way to do this is to import your footage, highlight all of the affected clips, right click the clips, hit modify -> interpret footage, then change your time base to 23.976. That will fix these issues, and it will do so while still maintaining the flexibility of the original r3d clips.

Thank you, this is a fine work around. Or solution I should say.

Just wanted to revive this because I had a similar, and thanks to John at RED Support, he saved me a reshoot!

Here's what he instructed:

In our free software REDCINE-X PRO you are able to change the project timebase for a clip. You will need to drag the clip(s) to the Project bin, right click the clip thumbnail, and select "Change Source Frame Rate..." (see below screenshot) to your desired time base. From here you will then want to generate an R3D Trim which will create a new R3D file with the new project timebase.

Hopefully this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks again, John, and RED support!
