CFast Read Only Issue New M! Macbook

Hey all, i searched around for a while, but couldnt see a topic on this just yet, apologies if i missed it somewhere.

Using Red 512GB Cfast, with Red Reader and cable, into a M1 14" MacBook Pro (all current OSX). Went to update the komodo, and the cards are read only for some reason, and i cant seem to change that in disk utility, or in camera. Not sure why they changed to this, never had this before, so any help will be much appreciated.

Make sure the write lock switch isn't set to "on".

That was exactly it.... an embarassing moment, ha!

Im having the same issue here but the lock doesnt show up....any ideas?

the lock doesnt show up....

The lock is a physical switch at the backside of the reader, not somewhere in the software, if that's where you're looking for it.

Such a hardware write protection is the only reliable way to prevent an OS from writing data to the card because it might think it has a legal interest in doing so. For example, "initialize" the card, prepare it for backup, or write an index the card's content. This potentially fragments the card, impacting the write performance when back in the camera.
