  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

CF field backup

Slowly but surely. We've got software working mostly as we want - still talking with a suppliers.

Weekend after next (16th) we're going to be doing some field testing. Should have more news after that.

I guess we will find out after your tests. I will be shooting the doc out at Burning Man and looks like we will be using the hyper drive. any tips?
 
Yeah don't think we'll have a unit in time for Burning Man.

To tell you the truth, I've not used the HyperDrive... However if I had to then I would buy two of the casing-only ones... Then I'd buy a few (4-6) 320-500GB 2.5" SATA drives.

Each CF card goes into each unit once. If the drives fill up, take em out and put a new one in.
 
I'm not totally sure on the drives. They are generally quite available. Most laptop drives are 5400RPM, which will probably be fine for your purposes. Seagate or Hitachi maybe? Not sure.
