This was a somewhat unusual project, a series of clips made to promote a book release, made all the more unusual by the profile of the director: McG, of "Charlie's Angels" 1&2, "We are Marshall" and upcoming "Terminator 4" fame. McG wanted to shoot these relatively down-and-dirty (i.e. small crew) but still have them look good. I suggested we use RED and he enthusiastically agreed. I enlisted the RED Ninja guys (Evin, Blair and Brook at different times) and their camera packages. I brought a 1st and 2nd AC and we had a lone grip/electric with van package (I had to get pretty hands-on with the lighting as a result, always dangerous as I am the king of setting flags with the grip head reversed).
The clips will see some broadcast time, I believe a segment on "Entertainment Tonight", but unfortunately the 1080p master will likely never be seen by the public. Thanks to the 4K files the editor was able to do blowups on a few shots, which for one segment resulted in the equivalent of closeups extracted from over-the-shoulder shots, very useful to have.
Because of time constraints to get these out, I did the color correction in Final Cut Pro off the 2K proxy files.
3 segments are posted here, a 4th will be added soon.
