If your into custom PC's you'll know that caselabs has hands down made the best cases. Unfortunately It looks like they are closing doors due to the new aluminum tariffs.

Wow, that is terrible. I know politics are verboten on the forum, but once again, I think bad decisions are getting made in Washington that affect a lot of American businesses -- particularly companies in the production and post business.

I've been building my own computers, servers, external data storage, and fiber networks since the early age of 12. CaseLabs has always been a brand that I supported. They thought through the user experience and made cases for people like me who expect rigid, functional, and flexible case design.

Politics aside, a lot of hard workers and small businesses are shutting their doors because of the decisions being made by people who have little understanding what it takes to have a business in this day and age.

A lot of businesses have exploited the grey area in the import laws for decades and that has caused domestic manufacturing to almost completely vanish. Lobbying the corrupted politicians to keep that status quo. Michael Dell started it in 1982. HP followed short after. Now finally these businesses will be hold accountable and pay their share of taxes so the infrastructure, education, healthcare burden is not all on the American taxpayers. I say make American, buy American.....

I definitely think everyone should pay their fair sure, but didn't US businesses just get a massive 2 Trillion Dollar TAX CUT?

The stock market has been gorging on Fortune 500 companies buying back their stocks at record levels and at discounted tax rates...

I agree with you, the big guns always find the way to weasel out of it and the little guy gets the worst of it but we got to start somewhere. Border duty tax is not a bad start....

Yeah man, stick it to those fat cat niche computer case makers.

Aluminum isn't the only casualty. There is a huge list of 800+ commodity codes hit by the 25% tariff including LTO tape drives! I think they just were throwing darts while drunk at commodity codes of things to hit for 25%.

I wish it was drunkenness as that wears off.

Or....They could source the materials and manufacture domestically. By employees that get paid real wages and are able to support their families....
BTW if you think that ANYONE in this country can pass any laws holding the Fortune 500 taxable and responsible you are very naive......
As the most recent recession demonstrated very clearly. It has nothing to do with who is in the White House...

MAGA . . . right?

This just in: there is no plan or strategy for us tax paying peasants. Get ready for another 2008 there friends. The ultra rich need a deep recession every 10 years or so to get richer. It allows them to buy assets real cheap and to consolidate power by breaking labor unions etc.

This Government is picking winners and creating losers. This is neither free market capitalism nor a representative democracy. It’s third world banana dictator shit.

One can hope right? ;-)
You don't still think that the guy in the White House, whoever it happens to be has ANY say about the important sectors of economy like finance , energy or, first and foremost, weapon exporting and sales? Because if you, a very perceptive person, do, then we are in real trouble here....
The ones that tried, like JFK, usually end up with their brains on the pavement in a public place to set the example...
