  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Has anyone recieved a Carrion monitor? I ordered mine 6 weeks ago, paid for it, and haven't seen anything. Also no response to emails.

Anyone else? I'm guessing a hundred people ordered at once and he is slammed.

I'm guessing you're right ;)

I've been to his place a bunch of times - each time I do, there are just pieces of monitors all over the place, like some kind of crazy assembly line.

It takes quite a while to construct and test each one.

I think he's also some kind of engineering / architectural genius (the only guy getting architecture work in this town despite the whole economy thing), so it's not like he can ditch all his clients and make monitors 24/7.

I think in terms of profit per hour he has to spend on making them, it's probably a far less lucrative than his day job.

I was looking into doing the same thing with monitors but gave up once I realized how much labor goes into it. Yes, you can hire someone to help, but if they screw up, they can easily fry their way through thousands of dollars work of components and any profit you make is shot. LCD panels have to be wired right, I discovered...

Hey Guys,

I know some people have waited a long time for the monitor. I apologize for that. I am getting 6 units out today, and will have another 6 out by Saturday. And that should pretty much get me caught up with the people that have waited more that the lead time.
I will get 6 more out next week and then things should be fine.
Again, I apologize for the delays and hope that everyone will enjoy their monitors.

What about service? I want a monitor but I am worried about turn around time on it if it needs fixed or whatever.

Is it something maybe a traditional repair place like Spec-Comm could fix or does it have to come back to you?
 
I can reiterate that this is the highest quality picture you can get. So much so that today I got a call from a producer who after the shoot, called me because the agency were so blown away by the monitor picture and wanted to always have it available for shoots. It is superb.

I ordered July 9th. Still no monitor, and no response. He had no problem taking my $ though.
