Is there a case for just buying the Carrion LCD instead of the Red LCD?

What are the pros and cons of this? I know Finner has recommended the Carrion.

One point against the Carrion is that it needs to be separately powered. I dont want to take power from a battery because the camera is already apparently power hungry enough (though I guess the LCD does this already - just through the camera). Would the Carrion plus vmount battery on it be too heavy to stick on the camera via a noga arm?

Camera does not arrive til December so that I have the time to get these things right, I hope.

Oh, I didn't mean to open up any old wounds.

Just wanting to explore what the best option is. All other things being equal I am leaning towards the Red because of ease of use.

Assuming the image quality is comparable is it just all the input and output options that makes the Carrion so attractive?

Clearly with all this massive activity and development going on with accessories for the Red it is sensible to wait. Looking forward to seeing the Action LCD.

Thanks

i don't recommend you buying RED's batteries. Try 190 Watt batteries from anjibatteries

I would stay away from anji batteries.. they are chinese cells. Skywalker.. i do believe you are the first one to ever complain about the RED battery :)

I agree. Red batteries are terrific. Were you having a specific problem with them?

By the way does the Red Pro LCD desqueeze by any chance?
