Hi, I recently tested the RF with the Raptor. I could not tell if the IS was on or not. Does anyone know if that is the case? It looked as if it was not activated so I was thinking maybe it is not supported?

I also concluded that I really do not like RF mount with Raptor because I cannot use Revolva then. I use the Revolva filter ALL the time and it is so frustrating when you do not have them. Screw in filters of course can solve the issue but I find that I often need to change the exposure very often.
It is a bit of concern for me with EF mount being less and less used. We use EF for all our lenses, even our cinema lenses like Canon 50-1000, our Phantom does not have RF mount either.
I sometimes debate switching over to PL mount, but I like many of the exotic still lenses like from Laowa and Canon and I greatly dislike switching mounts in the middle of a shot.

Cheers,
Andreas

Same as my RF 24-105 F4 L IS USM... IS works good enough for some "quick" handheld shoots without gimbal.
I meant more if it was technically activated. I know Red had some problems before with just not using IS so it would behave as a NON IS lens. When I tested it did not feel as if the IS was on for me.

Don't know if it helps, but I have a Komodo and the RF24-70 2.8 and I shoot regularly with that combination. The IS works fine then.

I had a bit of time to test properly and I can report that the IS works with Red on both the RF 24-70 2.8 and the RF 70-200 f4 and it is considerably smoother compared to not using a stabilizer. I think I will get these 2 lenses another shot and just use the old screw in filters. Man I thought that was something of the past. I used the Revolva for maybe 5 years and it is so good to be able to switch ND filter quickly so not so fun that this is no longer possible with RF lenses. The focus ring on the RF lenses is WAY better to operate than the old EF lenses.

Yes, the IS works perfectly, but I do have problems with the focus, very often the movement of the focus ring is not constant and the focus jumps much further than it should. At 24mm and 70mm it works fine, but not in between. It's the same with the V-Raptor, Komodo X and Komodo.

Does anyone know if the IS works with any EF lenses that have it? For example, the EF 16-35 f/4 IS? Or does the IS only work with RF lenses? I have a couple of EF lenses with IS and I don’t believe it is engaged when filming with my Komodo.

EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM
EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM
Both work with the Canon 2x Extender III
Using the Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R

Note: The electronic contols sometimes do not work in combination with the extender when attaching. Removing and reattaching the extender is necessary in that case and with a bit of luck it works again.

Thanks, that's helpful to know that it appears to be working for some lenses. I'm assuming all you're doing is attaching the lens, correct? There's no special setting on the Komodo or something I'm missing?

I'm 99.9% certain it's not working on any of the lenses I have that have IS. That would be the 16-35 F/4 IS, 70-200 F/2.8 II and the CN-E 18-80 T4.4 Compact Servo.

Maybe it just doesn't work with those lenses.
