  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

[WTB] Canon K35 18mm and 35mm lenses...

Still looking... especially in need of that 18mm...

I'm thinking about making this thread a psychotic conversation with myself... Oh wait, it already is...

I'd say it's a bit more like a psychotic groundhog day!
...over and over again with the same thing?
I hope spring breaks soon... and something happens..

PHIL???

You've been very tenacious about the K35's. Why these lenses instead of any of the others?
Thanks

Just trying to complete a set... it's kinda lonely without an 18mm, ya know!

10 years ago I bought a full set (and some spares in need of service) K35 primes for 1000 Pounds, I though that was expansive.... And when I got rid of them a few years back I though people where crazy to pay what they did... But during the last couple of years the prices have just gone trough the sky and the full sets are pretty much impossible to find.

In one way I wish I still had them. But back then no body wanted to rent them. Even though I always saw them as the best looking spherical around, with their sharpness, falloff and good soft looking flares. In comparison they really make other lenses look stupidly big, slow and lacking in the close focus range.

Hope you find the 18mm and if are about to collect them all you should also pick this one up and have rehoused and PL'd. It really goes well with the K35's and it's possibly the widest / sharpest lens you can find in the none fisheye category.

If it makes you feel any better, I almost never use my 18mm. It's not an 80mm front, so I usually carry the duclos 11-16 which is. Makes life easier for clip on MB etc. Of course when you do need the speed, the 18mm sure is nice to have. Also, if you come across one that is less than perfect, I had Focal point optics recoat the front element of one for me before I sold it, and it turned out great. I've been keeping my eyes open for you, but they don't seem to be many around.

Cheers,

Nick

Thanks Nick, I appreciate the idea of you keeping an eye out for me. It's proving to be a pain in the arse! What started as a whim is turning into a full-on maniacal hunt to complete the idea.
