It does 2 x 2 binning, and it's not a true 4K sensor -- it's Quad HD.

I appreciate pretty gear as much as the next person. But a lot of people sound like they're dismissing it based on its looks... which I don't think are even bad. I don't think the 5D is ugly and put the two next to each other and they certainly look like family.

It is growing on me a bit. Much better than the "hairdryer" I guess. Specs are not that impressive. Sony F3 doesn't claim a 3.5 K sensor although it is probably more. if it records at 1080, it is a 1080 cam.

Well, marketing dreck of it being 4k *cough* aside, quad-HD will make for good quality 1080 content. Likely will have good low-noise and aliasing specs. Quaint!
