  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Was just thinking the same thing... why do people care what cars look like, as long as they get us from point A to point B?

We're visual people by nature, but especially this crowd...

This is so exciting. I like the Canon alot! This is good news to me, because with Jim's confidence, I have a feeling the Scarlet will blow it away. But price is still a major factor.
 
At this point I’m not sure what Canon’s intended market is…I’m a bit confused here…?

Totally. I think that all the things around me at my desk are things that are extensions of design that please and inspire me. I want my cameras also to inspire me in their design.

Do you think it was meant to a be pseudo 16 mm film grain look…It hard to believe that they would knowingly put something on screen that looked that way…?

I don’t get it at the moment…
 
Her hair looks a little bit “convenient” on some of those green screen shots.

Red could skip announcing anything and still win. Really, Canon? A $16K 8-bit 1080p camera?
 
I appreciate pretty gear as much as the next person. But a lot of people sound like they're dismissing it based on its looks... which I don't think are even bad. I don't think the 5D is ugly and put the two next to each other and they certainly look like family.

Way too expensive for those specs.

I expect to see a similar price point from RED with much better specs, but it's still going to price out the original market Scarlet was aimed at.

Maybe I'll be happily surprised instead... off to RSH!
