  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can you change project frame rate/TC on R3D file?

Hi,

I have clients who have shot R3Ds at 23.98fps by accident, and were supposed to shoot 25fps.

Is there a way to change the project frame rate metadata on source R3D file?

Or is the only option to cut the footage at 23.98 and retime the edit after it is conformed back to the R3D Files.

As we have to create commercials that are exactly 30secs long, currently we have to edit overlength - this work around is a little frustrating. Anyone have any other ideas?

Workflow is currently Shot on RED @ 23.976 project frame rate -> Davinci Resolve Transcode to MXF 23.976-> Edit in Avid 23.976-> Export EDL -> Grade in Resolve linking back to R3D Media -> Conform in Smoke and retime to 25fps.

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I would also like to change project metadata on some clips that were shot a with wrong project setting.

They couldn't last I checked, even though it should be just a metadata switch.

back when we used the cam-proxies, I retimed a full movie in cinematools from the proxies, and it conformed and worked like a charm from there on, so technically it is possible.

there is no access to that switch in RCX, though...

If you don't need to conform back to the R3D's, there are a few options...
