Can we get completely bogus "tests" and threads banned?
Waste of bandwith.
Hi,
I find it quite amusing that many RED users who don't shoot film can't see the difference. Short DOF is not a film artifact.

got meits hard to tell with this small res.. but curious? did you add some sort of grain to some of them.. and not to the others?
I looked at this thread yesterday and didn't think any of the shots looked like film, but thought it would be rude to post thatWatch your highlights and white balance...
Thanks for the advice. These were shot before I even stepped into film school so now 4 years in I think I have a better handle, plus better equipment and gels. Amazing how practice does make you better.
Best,
Matt
Matt,
I dig what you did... a little provocative but you made a good point... the whole film vs digital discussion has a tendency to overshadow what is really important... good storytelling... I doubt that overall we will see better films because of RED... don´t get me wrong, I love the camera, I own one myself... but the camera is just a means to an end...
Not everyone tells stories with cameras. Some capture raw action or pure beauty of nature with no story attached at all. Some of us shoot commercials out in the desert that have no story. Tons of examples but the point is quality matters in my world and a lot of others on this site.
MJ slamming the ball from the free throw line at about 250 fps.
One angle, locked off from the side, with a pretty wide lens.
A little riff of sound to go with it.
Nike logo flash at the end.
What was the "story" there? He's really good. Nope, the way it was shot is what made it stick for a year. Themes and stories are different.
Every picture tells a story.
bla bla bla. I totally disagree.
can´t beat your argument... you finally convinced me...
