  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

CAMERA INSURANCE?

I spoke to Allison at Heffernan about insuring rental gear awhile back and it's problematic when you're going to rent out the camera and have people take it out of your hands. I don't remember the precise details but remember it being a bit of a Catch 22 situation. Something like Heffernan will sell you insurance but a condition is that anyone who rents from you must provide proof of their own insurance. You can call or e-mail and ask her.

I wonder if that applies if you are hired as the DIT and on set with the camera the entire time, in addition to renting the camera to a production. I need to ask my insurance company. Thanks for the heads up!

filmins.com is what I went with. I believe they are also the broker for One-beacon. $475 a year for $28k in coverage and a $500 deductible. Any body else go with Filmins?
