  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Came 150W LED Fresnel?

I have a 100w one. Pretty darn good for the price. Dont think its the tungsten equivalent they claim it to be but pretty good. I think its equivalent to a 650 watt tungsten - I'm going to try some of their led panels soon I think. Considering I can run ten of these on one single socket no problem I think its pretty amazing. I dont see and green cast either. Free shipping by the way- insane!

I've heard that one of their models has a bit of fan noise, not that should bother anyone on Reduser, LOL. But have you encountered any fan noise issues? BTW, the 150W is dimmable (which I believe its 100W counterpart is not). Thanks for your input!

Well here's an answer to my own ?:

"Thanks for your email, the model NS1500 doesn't have fan inside the light.

The model CC100 have the fan inside, so it has a little noise.

Have a nice day.

best regards

Joey"

Very cool that Came responded!

Also there is a Fan noise in HMI 1200W model as well (from Ballast),

This seems like an awfully attractive light for the money. Am I missing something?

Kirk -are you saying your 100w version is equivalent to a 650? Or this 150w version? Thanks.

I take it you like the light.

Based on my search (online), I found 100W version is equivalent not more than 300. However its still worth it

So, shooting with Dragon that would be plenty to simulate high noon on a cloudless day in the desert. LOL

The agony of having to hear some one say "Freznel" over and over again was too much.

I think it's going to be WAY green. If the guy who pronounces it as Fres-nel sees green...the MX/Drag sensors will pick it up like crazy. Yes, it probably can be removed in post, but still...who wants a major green cast to deal with. You get what you pay for. Wouldn't want a $300 paperweight.

Seems like a few things are getting mixed together here, though. Do we know the "freznel" guy is showing the same light? And, even if he is showing the 100w version, is the 150w version guilty of the same crimes?

EDIT: Per Kirk's post above, he doesn't see any green.

I experimented with a 100watt LED (I just bought the LED and power supply like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/100W-Cold-W...704?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35cdafbb40) that I put in a mole richardson baby housing. It wasn't green just a little on the blue side, I rather liked it. Very crisp "winter light" looking. I wouldn't automatically fear green. the nice thing about LEDS is you just put a piece of 1/8 minus or whatever on the lens, and it lasts forever. I have been meaning to buy a couple of those chinese led fresnels for a while now. I may get around to it soon.

Terry, the 100W in the review is a different line of LED light than the 150W I linked to.

FWIW, I couldn't help myself and ordered a unit to test. To be specific and clear, I ordered the 150w unit from Came listed in the link at the start of this thread. I'll report back on my impressions when I get it. Wish me luck.
