  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Buying Scarlet at NAB would be ethereal...if u will

I'm praying that Jim's promised "surprise" will be in those lines; or at least if we could get to put down a deposit. I need that camera so bad.

I expect Scarlet deposits to be taken around NAB, but I don't think that's the surprise.

I'm not whining (well maybe I am) but what about the people who can't afford the cost and or the time to travel to NAB?

Not really fair to everyone else.

Just a thought.:smile5:

If there were to be any Scarlet deposits taken around NAB I would think it would be available online aswell. I think NAB will be mostly for Epic to shine. But hopefully we get a big info update on the Scarlet with release date etc!!

I just hope that we have at least one day's warning - It would be terrible if Jim just said, "Surprise, we're taking deposits right now". I'd have to shift money around to get it accessible and that could take several hours to be approved...

Alternatively I will probably sign up for a credit card that gets frequent flyer points, because I could get almost a ticket to Sydney for the price of the Scarlet kit.

With the RED ONE they were taking orders on the phone as well as on the NAB floor, so I don't think that would be a big deal. But certianly it would be a lot more fair to just do it all on the internet so everybody gets the same go.

I hope RED have a very solid, distributed backend for their online store, or are beefing it up now, because otherwise when Scarlet orders open, the RED site will be crushed in a few minutes!

Do they take only credit card deposit ?
How about money order ?

If they announce scarlet deposits I might be in... if they announce epic s deposits, I'm definitely in. I might get a scarlet down the road... but I know I want an epic s as well as an epic.. but I think I might want a scarlet fixed as a grab and go camera for certain projects...

I first wanted an Epic-S, but with the prince inceasing + accessories + RPZ 17-50 + one or two zeiss CP2, my dream package becomes too expensive at the moment. So a Fixed Scarlet would be just Perfect !

i would like to pay for red scarlet by telegraphic transfer, pls let me know RED'S bank name, bank's swift code , & account no.

Unlikely. Same demand for any new camera. I would suggest buying a 60D in the interim and learning the craft as I see your website is lacking video content.

My web site lacks footage mainly because 1) I haven't got around to putting any up and 2) in all my paid video work, the copyright goes to the client, so I'm not allowed to post that stuff...

Couldn't you negotiate the use of small clips for "portfolio" purposes?
