  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey fellas, I know similar threads have been posted but I would love some more specific answers. We have been shooting a ton with our Raven since we got it and are now looking to build it completely out and would love to hear what you guys recommend for a few specific accessories/items.

1. Best/most cost effective way to get the touch monitor off of the top? (and still use another external monitor such as a 502)
2. Good, light-weight matte box?
3. Using the Raven with a Ronin? (What necessary power cables are needed, etc)
4. Best wireless follow focus system? (sold our redrock micro, looking into DJI, thoughts?)

Any advice on accessories and add-ons for the Raven would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
 
I can speak to three and four.

Definitely get the extenders for the balancing system so that the Raven can sit lower. It's CG is too high without them. Also, get the Jetpack as you'll want the power cable pointing down, not out as it is on the V-Lock I/O Expander. I used the DSMC battery belt clip all the time and it works like a charm.

The best system in my opinion is the DJI focus. But if you need the finger wheel, then then RedRock system is solid, there's just more cables and modules.
 
1. You can use woodencamera LEMO pogo cables, or RED Lemo A B adapters!
2. Mattebox - you can look into Bright Tangerine http://www.brighttangerine.com/category/matte-box/2 , they do some sick light matteboxes
4. RT Motion? They do remote control for AF lenses without motors, but they have motors of course! Check them out!
 
Thank you guys, I'll definitely be looking into this. I could definitely see us using the battery belt clip and the LEMO pogo cables.
 
Luca, can you give me a link to exactly which woodencamera LEMO pogo cable you are talking about? I'm assuming just a male LEMO to female POGO?

SmallRig is working on a baseplate similar to Wooden Camera's. No date for release, but I hear within the next couple months.

I've done a review on the RedRock Micro FF and I'm doing a DJI review next. Redrock's next system is amazing.

Excellent, thanks Luca.

I think the Bright Tangerine Misfit ATOM is going to be a bit too small for our needs, looking for something a little more robust, but we'll definitely look into the other Bright Tangerine options.
