Build 20 (Beta) bug tracker

SATA error

SATA error

If after installation of Build 20 Version 20.0.2 or 20.1.2 you experience a SATA TRANS ERROR on record....

.... please contact Brent or Sean and ask them to inspect that RED-DRIVE for you.

Also please also send us a copy of the camera LOG file.

Thanks for that info Stuart, I saw this message today on a client's Red camera I was shooting with. Build 20.1.2 (which ROCKS btw!) I'll pass on the message to them tomorrow. Can they contact Seika DI here as they are now the local Red Service Center?

I still have the camera so I'll grab the log file from it in the morning before I have to hand it back.

Cheers,

Paul

I am experiencing the same issue "SATA TRANS ERROR" on record with 20.0.2 and 20.1.2, I am not having the issue with 20.0.0.

I saw today something I couldn't explain.

Two red ones both updated to the latest beta build v20.1.2, properly color balanced, matched settings, etc. yet displaying marked differences in the monitors colors in redspace. To make it more confusing there was an accompanying difference in the rgb hist with a noticeable increase in exposure in the red channel that matched the monitors warmer tinge. Both in raw and rec709 colors and hist mirrored eachother. Most importantly the raw files matched nicely if defaults were restored via RA and confirmed after looking at the files on a scratch system. All of the obvious (at least to me) problem solving methods were tried ie. reinstall build, black shading, switching lenses and monitors, restoring defaults, etc.

Would anyone care to confirm if this is also the case between other cameras? Not even sure if this is related to the latest build as I did not compare the cameras redspace with build 17.

We had our two on the bench together for the first time in months last week and yes, through the same 24mm Ultra Prime one was a little warmer than the other. Odd.

Yes, we had black shaded them both minutes earlier.

EDIT: I should note this is on Build 17.

SATA error while recording

SATA error while recording

Our camera, SN# 5807 is also having the SATA error pop up occasionally whilst recording to Red Drives after upgrading to v20.1.2. I haven't been operating it so can't tell you yet if it's happenig on both our drives or just one (which would indicate a possible problem with that drive i guess?)

Again, if that's happening, please contact RED tech support, tell them your drive serial number and type (length) of SATA cable being used, and most importantly send a copy of the camera LOG file.

With b.20 i experienced some shut downs and re-boot and audio faults as well.
with 20.0.2 many things getting better.
Im running 20.1.2 now... just loving.
running smoothly, no problems last weekend i shot
a comercial and today start a short movie.
Just in case with my flash' 17 in my pocket.
Thank you deanan, very good work.

Not me, thanks to Stuart, Dan, and the guys tackling some really hard stuff!

LOG file

Can you please confirm, where's the drive serial number, and where's the camera LOG file.

Just the camera LOG file actually; under SYSTEM / SETUP ... push WRITE LOG and e-mail the file (of format ABC_123_XYZ.log) to us.

Best to .ZIP it first before e-mailing though.

So i had today on Build 20.1.2 a codec error and a rocket IO error...

log file was sent.....

camera stoped recording, after that everything ok. the clips are also ok and save closed....

thx

Is anybody else finding that in the release build of 20 the GPIO function no longer works properly?

We are only getting a first look at the new system now as we weren't in a position to join the Beta Testers.

Prior to Build 20 we could use either the ARRI WLCSII or the ViewFactor Studios Trigger to turn over the camera via the inputs on the back.

Today when testing with a crew the ARRI WLCS II would not trigger any function at all and the ViewFactor trigger would only enact Pre-Record no matter what the settings were.

Has anyone else come across this or is it a know issue?

Green Banding in LCD using build 20

Green Banding in LCD using build 20

So, tried to find if any others had this problem with a search of this thread and failed to find any other posts.

I just recently loaded build 20.1.2 and after loading it and rebooting the camera, my LCD was full of green bands at a 45 degree angle on the LCD, not sure if this is some sort of zebra type pattern thing that i am unaware of, but as i adjust the iris to open up more, they are reduced and i only have a few on my LCD. So i reloaded build 20 and same thing occurred. This was merely a quick test for me before shooting some footage and i did not have a chance to do so with build 20 so i reverted back to build 17.

I realize i must be missing something here? Anyone care to enlighten me on what the green banding is?
Still holding on build 17.
Thanks....

Zebras are on by default in b20. You can turn them off.

Boot up

Boot up

Our camera had the hold on booting bug when we loaded up build 20, so we rolled it back to Good old B17.

Go try Build 20 again Steve. Thats a specific bug fix of Build 20.

That should not a problem with Build 20.. I'd RESTORE the USER and SYSTEM and try that again.

....And they are green? I've always seen them as white bands. And i did this is a rather dark room....I'll try it again. But seems odd unless i can now choose the banding color and somehow they are set for low light?

thanks, will try and see.

One more camera with SATA ERROR on 640GB DRIVES. Will email you the LOG soon. As a note on build 20.0.1 everything was fine. On 20.0.0 was buggy and now on 2.1.3 again.
