Great Job RED Team....3840 x 2160 pixels what aspect is that and dose it give you any speed over 30fps.

3840x2160 is 16:9.

4k Hd

4k Hd

3840 x 2160 pixels what aspect is that.

That is 16:9 - i.e. 2 x 1920 by 2 x 1080 so a debayer and 1/2 scale in both directions generates a 1080p RGB signal - hence the name 4K HD for this.

If you place PLAYBACK into 1080p, then the field of view of the 1080p output is identical to the FOV seen during preview and record when using 4K HD.

Max mode is the default. B16 increased the quality and stability but as a result also decreased the framerates for Scratch a bit. Unchecking it lets it do an older mode that worked well for Scratch at half res high.

FYI, 3840x2160 is exactly 4x 1920x1080. So half res proxies are exactly 1920x1080. It's good for commercials and episodic/broadcast work .

Yes, this is a new checkbox in the TIMECODE menu that allows you to DISABLE timecode output on the LEMO 5 pin connector if you want / need to.

These are all great addittions!

Couple of questions

1. Compatibility issues with post tools?
2. If we uncheck MAX, do we essentlially get a B15 image? (I really like that...)
3. 4,5k. I don't have it so I don't miss it, but will it make it to the release.
4. Will RC be opened for longer sequences and handle mixed formats better in the upcoming (whenever that happens) release?
5. Will the RED tools open for rotation from the RAW files in SDK and tools (in addittion to scale, x, y displacement and crop)?

Congratulations!!!

Stuart, Deanan all thanks for the reply. Got it... makes perfect since. Thanks!

This all rocks! Great work guys!

OK, now that the info can be turned off in the EVF do you think you could get the Record "Dot" and/or the TC/Clip Name out on the HD-SDI?

We lost a key shot yesterday because the record button was double pressed. Also the Script Sups. are dying without the TC/Clip name on the tap.

Again, great job!

Stuart? Any chance of the above making it into the release B17?
Thanks.

Stuart,Deanan...Red Team.
Is it physically even possible to have a 4096x3112 4:3 record mode?

B17 & Scratch Cine

B17 & Scratch Cine

Great work. I am very curious to see if I can shoot the quad HD rez at 29.97 with the MAX box unchecked and be able to layoff those files at half res high, at 29.97 on my Scratch Cine system. If so, Scratch Cine is far more valuable for broadcast clients who spec 29.97 rather than 23.976.

I will report back next week.

Cheers-
