Mark, we notice that too from time to time, we are analyzing the cause. It does not affect the recorded image though.

Stuart, been getting that lots with Build 15 - unplug the LCD - plug it back in and it's fine.

Not on my camera, I sometimes can wiggle the connection to get it to work correctly. But with the later 15 versions it seems to have gotten worse.

We get the same thing from time to time, but so far it hasnt carried over to the recorded image as Stuart says.

I have encountered the same problem. Rebooting solves it, but in the mean time it makes operating very difficult since I'm still operating from the monitor until my eyepiece comes.

I only see this flicker on the bottom of the LCD when I pan back and forth on a detailed image. I can make it worse depending on movement. Is this the same as what you guys are talking about? It stops when my pan stops.

The flicker that I'm talking about is not movement dependent. It happens even when the camera is static.

Just a quick poll from those of you that posted experiencing this problem:
Did you do black shading again after installing 15?

Yes, I did black shading after installing build 15.

Here too. Rebooting, LCD cable, calibrating... still there.

Just to update, I got it again today, but it travelled slowly up the screen like an out of sync TV set and when you panned the break got worse at the intersection like it was lagging. Powered down and rebooted and the problem disappeared.

I didn't have it the first 2 or 3 hours of use with the latest build, but yesterday when I turned the camera on, I saw the LCD flicker, it seemed worse when I first turned the camera on, but would normally be triggered when ever the LCD had to refresh a lot of information.

does this help?

does this help?

Hi,

I don't know if this can be of any help in finding the bug:

- We've tested two cameras with build 15 2.1.3
- One of them usually boots with the LCD working fine, the other one always boots with the LCD flicker.
- The flicker won't disapear neither re-booting nor unplugging and plugging back the LCD.
- We can though remove the flicker if we change the project to 2k and then go back to 4k. It's instantly OK when we choose 2k.
- We did blackshade each camera twice after upgrading from build 14.
- We don't have EVF.
- We have never used HDMI.

RED team: if you need further info/testing, just PM.

Yes! i have about 3 times, It seems to be a sync issue, It does not happen here at 30fps.

I experienced this problem, and considering the way it looked thought that it is a video sync issue. The camera was in 24 f/s mode when it occurred. As soon as I switched to 29.97/30 the problem disappeared. Returning thereafter to 24 seemed to fix the issue. It may be interesting if everyone who experiences this problem would post what frame rate it occurs at.

I had the same Problem. I can though remove the flicker if i change the project to 2k and then go back to 4k. It's instantly OK when we choose 2k.
