How fast does the shuttle move?

On a 300mm? Good luck!

First of all, it takes off really slow - which is usually the main shot. Second the normal press site (think of the big countdown clock that you sometimes see) that everybody shoots from is 3 miles away. If we can get on the Vehicle Assembly Buildilng - which is special access - it would still be about 2 miles away. (Remember the blast zone of a pad blowup is up to 3 miles - which is why the VIP and press sites are 3 miles away.)

I haven't shot a launch since the eighties, right before the challenger, so I can't remember exactly what we had but I think I shot it with a with a betacam at probably 200mm and I don't think that was super tight.

Build 14 is Landmark. You will be very happy with it and it is due in the next few days. It has new surprise features.

Build 15 is also Landmark and has all the image quality improvements. Including simultaneous outputs.

Jim

The shit just keeps getting better, and better, and better. I'm already so happy with the images we're getting I can't imagine what we'll have by NAB. Build 23 and the Holy Grail? Call it Air Red.

Thanks so much Jim. Don't let all those ID 10 T's get you down man. I almost wish there was a noob filter. But I've learned to simply leave the thread when it's started by someone speaking nonsense. Might not be a bad idea to start a new category for newbies. Love the new accessories category BTW.

We have been alpha testing build 14 and I can't resist letting you in on some top secret info......

It is absolutely bad ass!!!!!!

I'm still excited about the camera finally being here.

I can't believe I will get more excited with the release of these new builds.

Awesome

At least it goes straight up, so image skew shouldn't be a problem

Well there is "skew"s ugly cousin: "squish". The vertical direction isn't immune.

I hope in future builds the menus etc react faster. right now whenver you push a button or click the joystick it lags a few miliseconds, it should all be instant like when you press a letter on a keyboard and you see it on the screen.. right now i am so fast to unmount magazines that i see the camera menu 'catching up' with the key commands i gave it..
