  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BUILD 100...

The Framing Tool is a little clunky - you have to select "Custom" Crop in the first drop down menu, select "1920x1080" in the second drop down menu, and Set Fit to "Fit Width."

To output 4.5k in a 1080P with letterbox, you only need to select "Fit Width".

In order to have accurate cropping to the pixel, a crop must be specified based on the source footage resolution (second menu). Without that, the crops aren't accurate which is why the framing is setup that way.

Before i did any grading and change the color to RED Color & RED Gamma

I compared same shot & same frame, one open in Old RED Cine and the other one open in REDCine X build 100, both set to same RED Space & RED Space

Why do i see different thing ? The one from old REDCine looks more saturated than the build100, wouldnt it be the same ?

Deanan ? Any thoughts ?

thank you Deanan i got it now!!!

Jim,
I tried the linear light and only adjusting the flut and it seems to me, as the image gets brighter the highlights get much brighter and get blown out quicker than the rest of the image. Did you experience this?

After working with more footage, you'll see that it is an interesting test but only works on some footage. You can now go back to the original station...

Great. But I still longing for the Command + Z / Control + Z...
:)

It is on the list (long one) of things to do... give the boys a bit of a break, they are working their asses off. Thanks.

You guys are doing a tremendous job. You have all my patience and respect :)!

Here's a really COOL bug :-)

I spent 2 days re-grading footage with Build 90 and 99. Today I opened the project file in Build 99 and everything is gone. No footage in the timeline, no clips in the bin, nothing. Same thing in any other build that I try to open the project with. Guess I'm starting over!

Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me once. It turns out I hadn't turned on my docking station where my footage was located when I booted up.

You mean that your drive wasn't mounted where the footage was stored? Mine is certainly mounted, because the project file is stored on the same drive where I saved the footage.

Just a cool bug, i guess. I'm on windows so haven't had any experience with 99

Any answer to this ? Jim ? Deanan ?
